The title of this book was inspired by an ancient Indian tale about a young mother, Hirkani, who scaled down a 1,000-foot vertical cliff in order to get to her baby to breastfeed. A compilation of inspirational tales from women around the world, Hirkani’s Daughters tells the stories of modern employed mothers who have overcome various obstacles to continue breastfeeding. Each woman shares how she evaluated her options, and took the path that worked best for her family.
