I’d like to share here a copy of an email from a mom and her baby whom I had the opportunity to communicate with.
**Permission to share was asked from the mother prior to posting & the links to the videos had been fixed**
Dear Moe,
first and foremost thank you soooooo much for your prompt reply. Just the fact that there WAS a reply made me feel so much better and less of a failure. All these hormones really make you or break you huh?

Your advice was very useful and very, very much appreciated. The videos were also a very good visual aid to support your advice. I had to access them through YouTube though, as the links on your website came up as ”error” (just FYI). As the week has gone by, Humayra and me have persisted and persevered and she is getting better at latching, and we have had a few very fullfilling BF sessions!! We still have some problems but I am hoping that we will smooth it all out with time. If I do need any home visits, I will get in touch with you again. The fee that you mention, I had fully anticipated and will be more than happy to pay if it comes to that.
I think it’s great what you are doing and the Brunei Breastfeeding Club seems to have a lot of response so you must be helping so many mummies. I must say I am quite disappointed with the health system and the midwife who told me to ”just supplement” and not warn me at all about nipple confusion or the effects of formula feeding. Thankfully, I never resorted to anything more than cup-feeding EBM a few times when Humayra was really hungry as I was so desperate to exclusively BF! I am also disappointed with the lack of support available for BF and new mums in general here. When I was in UK, it was such a supportive environment, and all new mums get a contact support number to talk to a midwife anytime they had any problems or questions about their baby which I would’ve much appreciated. Like you said, at the end of the day, its the sisterhood and support that helps. Sometimes you just need someone to tell you you’re NOT a bad mother and it’s NOT your fault things aren’t going perfectly. And with time and practice hopefully things will improve.
SO I thank you again, for all the help you have given me, and apologise for the delay of this email (tough job this mummy business!). And all the praise again for your website, your availability to assist us Bruneian mums with our BF and the forum, which I hope to be more active in once I have a little bit more time on my hands!
THANK YOU!!!!
Marlyna
